We Can Do More....

I have been through many things in my life, including losing friends to suicide.  I think it is great that everyone is spreading awareness for PTSD & Suicide on social media.  I watch many FB friends doing the pushup challenge for this cause.  I know it is helping others.  I'm glad.  

 

But,  I know that watching others doing pushups in a stress time in a PTSD moment would not help me.  I have thought about this all week.  I thought about writing 22 options for others to reach out to to find help and support.   Now I am choosing to do this especially because of a conversation I had a few days ago.   I spoke to a 19 year old who has lost her brother, who served in the military, to suicide.  She said she likes the idea of spreading awareness in this challenge, but her and her family would like to see options for help instead of or added with the  pushups videos.  

Here are some awesome websites and phone numbers that have some great help and connections. 

I marked a few "great page" because they seemed extra awesome to me. But, check out what ever resonates with you. 

I added few on the list that have help for teens and children with PTSD  or those who have a parent with it.
 

I am positive that there are hundreds of other resources and connections to help out there.  

I am also very aware that in a PTSD time, (which can be moments or days.) that just seeing these 22 resources  listed at once may be overwhelming.

I am hoping that this blog post brings hope, help and knowledge of the many levels of struggles within this struggle many face.
